2013 427 Corvette summary: The General Motors Chevrolet 2013 Corvette 427 2-passenger convertible includes a 7-liter (LS7) 505-horsepower naturally aspirated 16-valve front engine rear wheel drive V-8 connected to six-speed manual transmission. The C6 Corvette 427 Convertible will only be available as a 2013 year model, and if this is an indicator of the super high-performance thinking that will carry over into the next generation 2014 C7 Corvettes, we're in for very exciting times indeed. The best informational video, so far, on the 2103 Chevrolet 427 Corvette Convertible was done by Autoweek, starring The Bowtie Boys General Motors Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter.

427 Corvette convertible technology transfer: The General Motors Chevrolet Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition sports car includes technology from both the ZR1 and Z06 model Corvettes. The lightweight LS7 427 engine, driveline, and rear axle system used in the Z06 Corvette coupe; the Magnetic Selective Ride Control developed in the ZR1, along with 19" (front) and 20" (rear) wheels, ZR1-style Michelin PS2 tires; 427 badges, a carbon-fiber raised hood (introduced on the 2011 Z06 Carbon Edition), carbon-fiber floor panels, and carbon-fiber Z06 style fenders, all help the 427 edition convertible stand out as both an exceptional performer and a looker.
